Projects planned for the weekend...............

I have casted on for my blanket project and completed the first row all 96 stitches, it's a start:)
I found really kool polystyrene hearts in a craft store last Saturday so I plan to decorate them  by wrapping wool around them and some other trimmings I found. I reckon they will look kool on my wall.
It's Thursday already so only a day to go.
I love this doggie jumper.

Wooley Christmas pressie

I got this fab wool from my bestie friend Jill for Christmas. It's an amazing colour and really really soft. I now need to find something amazing to make with it. I'm thinking maybe a scarf??? I've been looking through ravelry for the perfect pattern.

1st project of 2010

I have decided the 1st project of the year will be a blanket. I bought wool for this project 6 months ago and then promptly forgot about it. I found it hard to get worsted wool in any of the local stores so I bought hand dyed wool online. I love strong colours so I choose an emerald green , dark grey and purple. It is for the back of our new charcoal grey sofa so I reckon it will work quite well. I found a pattern on ravelry for a chevron style blanket,see link;

you have to be a ravelry member to access their patterns, so if you are not a member already sign up:)

Here is a sneak peak of one of the projects on ravelry, I love the colours of this particular one, it was made by HomicidalPrincess on ravelry.

NEW YEAR NEW SKILLS

I have decided to make some practical new year resolutions this year. There is a sewing machine in my flat that is never ever used so 1st on my list is;

Learn how to sew.

I also really really really want to learn how to crochet, I am planning to do a workshop with my friend Jill over the next few months.

The last skill I have picked is learn how to read knitting charts and attempt a fair isle pattern!!

This list should keep me pretty busy.

I need a pair of gloves that are warm but also allow me to type so I made these:)

Happy New Year
